I have gotten many a comment on how flawless my skin looks (usually it's with makeup, but I don't correct anybody) and decided to upload my nightly routine for skincare!
I have very sensitive combination skin so finding the right products can be tricky, especially since I try to do everything on a budget. I start out with the basic Neutregena Oil-Free Acne Wash Cleanser with lathers really well and makes my face feel squeaky clean. I also use warm/hot water to do so so my pores are wide open for manipulating after. You may be asking why I don't use makeup removal wipes beforehand, and the answer is simple: I just don't feel like its a good idea to be pushing product around my face with basically a butt wipe and then scrubbing it again with facial cleanser. I know that is probably an inaccurate and inarticulate way of describing it, but I just don't like the way my face feels after. Next, I switch to freezing cold water and do a couple of splashes, making sure to get my neck as well. Doing this makes my pores feel tight and skin smooth. After, I pat dry with a soft towel (I don't dry completely, just gently pat). I then splash some Thayers Rosewater Toner on my face and neck, making sure to get all the nooks and crannies on my face for cleanliness. I follow up with the Mario Badescu Aloe and Rosewater spray liberally on my face, fanning it dry with a stiff paper or cardboard to make sure my face is moist and not sopping wet. Finally, I spend some time rubbing vitamin e oil into my face and neck, using residual oil on any other dark spots on my body that need attention. If I am having a particularly rough week and need some love under my eyes (I have bags for DAYS since I have large and a bit protruding eyes) I will use my favorite Kiehls Avocado Creamy Eye Treatment!
