It's official, I'm a Posher.
I have browsed this site before, unsure of how it worked and annoyed at how much people were selling their secondhand items for exorbitant amounts of money...but I wasn't utilizing it properly. I am planning a trip in November (keep your eyes on my travel page!) and wanted to get warm clothing for the travel. After exhausting all my efforts on Amazon and eBay, I tried my hand at Poshmark, the massive website with secondhand clothes, accessories, and even makeup. You can sell your cutest clothes and make some extra cash, or shop for high-end material that is shipped quickly to you. I bought cashmere sweaters for ten dollars each, an Athleta sweater dress for seventeen dollars, a Calvin Klein winter puffer coat for TEN DOLLARS, and heavy duty snow boots for twenty dollars! Score or nah?? This site may seem intimidating because of all that is has to offer, but it's definitely worth it. I even snagged a heavy Jones New York wool coat for thirty bucks! They ensure that if you buy something, it will come to you in a matter of days, which has been the case so far, but I'll continue to hope that they don't let me down!

As most of you who love fashion pinning and organizing may know, the beloved site Polyvore is no more. If you don't know what Polyvore is, feel free to check out an analysis I did on the site for The Norton Field Guide to Writing.
I found out about the death of the site in the saddest way one without any real social media can, by trying to just jump on the site and design a set...how tragic. All of my sets were gone, things I had saved, and hearted for future use. I read on a couple of different sites that these sets can be retrieved by emailing them so I did, and received no response. After getting over the initial shock, I immediately began hunting for a new site that would do the trick, especially since I wanted to plan out my wardrobe for my next trip (I want to make sure I don't make some of the same faux-pas I did on the LAST trip to Rome....). Below are a couple that I found which will do the trick while mapping out my clothes that are the most similar to Polyvore. |
